According to the State statistics service of Ukraine, the total volume of capital investments developed in agrarian sector of economy in January–March 2017, amounted to 10.9 billion UAH.
"This is 4.0 billion UAH or 57.9% more compared to the same period of the previous year, said the Head of Department of investments of the National scientific center "Institute of agrarian economy", C. E. S. Nikolay Kisil.
According to him, during this period the share of the agricultural sector in the total volume of investments in the state's economy also increased — from 13.5% to 16.8%.
The expert said that almost the entire increase of capital investments into agrarian sector of economy is achieved at the expense of agriculture. In the structure of total investment growth in the economy, it is 35%.
In the production of food and tobacco products capital investments in actual prices remained at the level of the previous year.
For 1 UAH of capital investment into manufacture of food products and tobacco products in January-March 2017 it was 3.38 UAH of investments in agriculture.
According to the scientists of the Institute of agrarian economy, if in 2017 there are no force majeure circumstances taken by the investors in 2016, and in January-March this year, the rate will allow to increase the total volume of capital investments for development of production of agricultural products from last year's 49.7 billion UAH to 75,0 and more billion UAH.
Since Ukraine has not yet established the conditions for large-scale investment development of small and medium-sized agricultural producers, investments in the agricultural sector of the economy in 2017 will be implemented by large-scale agribusiness. This corresponds to the conditions of its effectiveness and strengthens its position on world markets, but will not contribute to sustainable development of rural areas", — summed up Nikolay Kisil.
